Gratitude

I’m grateful for eyes that see the brilliance,

for a heart that feels intense,

for a mind to muse and comprehend,

and ears with music’s sense.

I’m grateful for love bestowed upon me

by the heart-songs of my youth

and for the warmly cherished friendship

of my lifelong lover’s truth.

But most of all I’m thankful

for our Lord and God in Heaven

who gives us all these wonders

and renders sins forgiven.
